Consider staying in Galena if you prefer a busier downtown with a larger assortment of accommodations, but don’s miss out on the picturesque scenery of the surrounding areas.

You don’t have to be Italian to experience the excitement of the second largest festival in Rockford located on the grounds of Boylan Catholic High School. This year the fest includes entertainment from Italian Folk Dance Troupes to groups and soloists. Sample Italian food, play Bocci ball and shop for Italian crafts.

Rockford known as “The Forest City” due to its beautiful parks and gardens is also home to Illinois’ largest water park, theater, shopping, museums, entertainment and golfing.
