We just got back from Galena and had such a great time! Hands down, the most beautiful place in the whole state of Illinois.
This time we also got to try a couple new restaurants. The 6-layer chocolate cake at Vinny Vinucci’s is to die for! I also highly recommend the macaroni and cheese dish at One Eleven Main. Yum…
We rented bikes in town and rode around some very nicely groomed paths. Stayed at the Irish Cottage which had a great band playing during dinner, and of course, some good Guiness. Of course, one of the best parts of Galena is cruising around to the wineries. Obviously, have to be careful about drinking and driving, so I’d like to find out about some sort of a tour, or renting a limo of some kind for an afternoon. Would be a very fun couples trip.
